This is Malcolm, in Scotland, also known as Five Senses, see my website for a taste of what I do … though it is only a sample. Also see the Testimonials here.
We have to play, to enjoy life, to survive a looming environmental disaster – but how? Not by consuming resources and chasing false promises (advertising) but by focusing upon what makes humans truely happy, healthy, with well-being and safety, not fear. This blog is about how we are doing it, how you could too, if it is right for you. Thank you.
In the near future my wife, Rachel, and I will be starting a social enterprise called Touchwood Project – more on that as time allows – but it will be revolutionary, ground breaking and fantastic, teaching skills, providing great accommodation, educational holiday experiences, life skills, community development, delicious food, evenings sat around the fire chatting, …. etc.
The website: where I run tours of Scotland, teach survival skills, show how to make fire with just bits of wood (and a few plants) – http://www.allfivesenses.com and Rachel is at http://www.dogood-design.com
We live in Orkney, in the north of Scotland. I am British, Rachel is American. We have two very sweet cats, Nutmeg and Caper.
We believe in happiness, truth, peace and community but will kick ass when called for. ![]()
That is my mum, at the Stone Age village, here in Orkney – 5,000 years of history and living with nature – and a lady who taught me much about life. Thanks mum. I know you are not well but remember, I love you.

Feedback on Play2survive’s Weblog
I visited your blog, Play2survive’s Weblog located at http://play2survive.wordpress.com/ recently. I must say, I’m quite impressed by the blog’s content. In particular, I really liked http://play2survive.wordpress.com/2008/09/23/we-need-some-darkness-in-our-lives/.
Good job!
I’d like to know if you’d be interested in having me as a guest writer for your blog. I am a features writer working with MiracleFruitPlus.com. I’d like to write a free 300 to 400 word blog entry for you. I have a few years experience and would really enjoy writing one or two guest blog entries for your blog.
If you’d like to take me up on my offer, please send me a topic and a quick outline of what you’d like the article to say. Please give me as much detail as possible so I can make the blog entry meet your specifications as much as possible.
In exchange for this free blog entry, I would like to request a linkback to MiracleFruitPlus in the body of the blog entry somewhere using the title tag “miracle fruit.”
I look forward to your response
Best Regards,

Hi Malcolm, Zimbabwe has some top National Parks, large areas for walking and camping, i am qualified to conduct theses type of safaris and am putting a survival type safari over 75kms in the middle of nowhere i have to be armed as there are Lions, Buffalo, Hippo, Elephant and a whole host of other Animals, snakes etc, this will be over 5-7 days slightly backed up to provide food and beverage in the simple camps but the whole trip will be based on surviving in an area like this, send me your email and i can give more options in different areas, even in other countries in Africa i can then create a bigger piture for you. hope this helps and it is on the same line of what you want to do?
Cheers
Daryl

Hello Malcolm,
I’ve only just stumbled onto your web presence through starting to investigate Orkney. I am a descendent of Isabella Tait, b. 1840, daughter of Thomas Tait and Isabell Pottinger, in Deerness. I believe the family lived on Holland farm in the 1840s-1890s, possibly longer. I don’t know if this is the disused Holland farm that is linked to the museum? I notice there are some Holland farms still operating on Orkney. The Holland Farm the Taits lived on was at Deerness.
I’ve always been drawn to this strand of my family history, being someone who likes solitary places not too far from the sea that return me to myself. Orkney just seems beautiful.
I love the sound of what you’re doing there, and wish you all the best with your projects. I was chuffed to find a photo of disused Holland farm. I’d love to see more photos of Deerness and the farm if you have any now or in the future.
